A concentration in Business and Graphic Design allowed ernie* to pursue a career as an entrepreneur and he was responsible for the success of several local businesses. Joval Industries, a jewelry manufacturing company and Mediagraphics, a graphic design and printing group. ernie* is an accomplished musician and for a short time published a newspaper called "Musicians' Classified" that was dedicated to the local music scene and helped musicians find gigs.

"Mr Mom" was the next adventure. Family roles were reversed and for 3 years ernie* was home with his daughter Micala while Valerie began her career with Meeting Street School. To say he learned a lot would be an understatement. Out of necessity and to maintain his sanity ernie* taught himself how to cook. With the help of TV Chef Pasquale Carpino and the Discovery Channel ernie* learned enough to feed his family. When Micala was old enough to attend school ernie* accepted an opportunity to join the JanCo Group as a pizza chef for the East Side Mario's chain and after 6 years experience opened Via Napoli, a bistro and pizzeria in Cranston. To say ernie* has a diversified and creative background may also be an understatement.
